A groundbreaking new way to address global warming

We’re on a mission

On the sunniest continent in the world, Africa, over a billion people have little or no access to electricity. RenuTek is a renewable energy technology company focused on developing utility-scale (50 to 200 acre) solar projects in Africa and other developing countries. These projects have an outsized impact because they power necessities like health clinics and clean water, and at the same time provide power that would otherwise be generated from fossil fuels.

The company is also helping fight global warming by building a groundbreaking subscription-based platform for consumers and businesses to directly participate in offsetting their carbon footprint. The company plans to launch the platform in stages throughout 2024.

What We Do

RenuTek is a renewable energy technology company. We develop vital 50-200 acre utility-scale solar projects in Africa and other developing countries. Over a billion people in Africa have little to no access to electricity.

Considering that demand, it was clear to us that without intervention, coal or other fossil fuels would be put into place. Our mission is to help stop global warming with our solar projects.

We don’t stop there. RenuTek is developing a revolutionary online subscription platform to sell Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from our projects to companies that want to offset their carbon footprint.

It’s a large market that’s already at $11.4 billion and is forecast to swell to $26.5 billion by 2030*.

IMPACT RECs™ vs Traditional RECs

What are RECs?

RECs are also known as Renewable Energy Certificates. Imagine RECs like certificates for clean energy. Each certificate represents 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity generated from renewable sources like solar or wind.

Imagine you generate 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity using solar panels. That's a lot of clean energy! However, it all gets mixed into the power grid where it combines with electricity from various sources, including some not-so-clean ones.

A REC acts as a separate "label" for that 1 MWh of clean energy you produced.

Now, you can sell that REC on a special market. Companies or individuals who want to support clean energy or offset their carbon footprint can buy these certificates.

What are Impact RECs™?

Looking for a way to make a real impact on the environment? Meet Impact RECs™. They're like traditional renewable energy certificates (RECs) with a twist:

  • Sourced from developing nations: Impact RECs™ are from renewable energy projects in Africa and other developing nations, where there is huge need and potential for solar.

  • Investing for the future: Part of the revenue generated from selling these RECs goes back into building new solar projects, creating a virtuous cycle of sustainability.

  • Real-world impact: RenuTek doesn't just install solar panels; we replace polluting diesel generators with cleaner, cheaper solar+storage systems in critical areas like healthcare facilities, communities, and schools.

Here's the bottom line: Our Impact RECs™ don’t just help you reduce your carbon footprint in the US, they also power positive change in developing countries, bringing clean energy and brighter futures to communities in need.

“IT IS IN YOUR HANDS TO CREATE A BETTER WORLD FOR ALL WHO LIVE IN IT”

-Nelson Mandela

Our unique ability to succeed is enhanced by our close partnership with the Mandela family. This gives us access to their well-established relationships with multiple African governments who control power acquisition.

Our partnership with the Mandela family

Unlike other companies, we don’t try to impose a western approach on African cultures because that simply doesn’t work.

It also aligns us with well connected local contacts who become our on-the-ground representation. Our process is how RenuTek efficiently identifies projects that have the greatest chance of success and profitability where others have stumbled.
